Overview
- Mooring Fee: what it is, how it is paid, and how it increases
The Mooring Fee is an anchoring fee: the price the Player System charges each Player to remain “anchored” to this world without being reclaimed by the Tower. It is not a civil tax imposed by Versa, nor a payment to a guild. It is a charge enforced by the system itself, indifferent to your condition, injuries, or status. - What it actually buys: time. The temporary right to continue existing here as a Player without the system triggering desynchronization. - What it is made of: it is paid in Energy, and Energy can only be generated by turning in mana stones (whole or fragmented, depending on purity and size). - Frequency: it is a Monthly payment, with a fixed countdown.
How it is paid (procedure)
- The Player takes a mana stone. 2. They press it against the tattoo on their chest (see point 3). 3. The stone disintegrates as if burned from within, without any real heat, but with a draining sensation, as though the air were being pulled from their lungs for an instant. 4. At that moment, the system screen appears (see point 2) and displays: - Energy received (in points) - Energy remaining to complete the weekly fee - Time remaining until the deadline
The payment is recorded the moment the stone disappears.
Yearly increase
The Mooring Fee increases every week, slightly, like a rising tide; but the real shift comes on the Player’s anniversary in this world: a major annual jump that redefines what counts as “the minimum required to keep existing.” - Month by Month: a small but constant increase, enough to ensure you never fully stabilize. - Each year: a sharp spike that forces Players to seek: - greater efficiency - more dangerous contracts - or a descent into deeper zones where the stones yield better returns
In narrative terms, the Mooring Fee turns a Player’s life into a permanent countdown: if you do not go down, you do not pay; if you do not pay, the system shuts you off.
