Overview
The Guardians Registry is not a single room or a single ledger. It is a living institutional record spread across all four Checkpoints, maintained by the administrative staff of the Guardian Guild and updated continuously as the city breathes — people registering, ranking up, dying, departing, and occasionally disappearing without explanation. Every person who has ever been issued an Adventurer Card or a Versa Identification Card exists somewhere in its pages. So does every foreign sailor who came through the port and every merchant who declared goods at the harbour gate.
The Registry is, in practical terms, the most complete record of people who have formally identified themselves to Versa's institutions. It is not a record of everyone in the city. Versa does not require documentation to enter, and the Guardians have never pretended otherwise. What the Registry tracks is not arrival but commitment: the moment a person decides to exist formally in Versa's systems, whether by registering as an adventurer, applying for a Versa Identification Card, or declaring goods at the harbour. Before that moment, a person in Versa is simply a person in Versa, and the city contains thousands of them at any given time.
The Guardians treat the Registry accordingly — as an authoritative record of what has been declared, not as a census of what exists.
